Most disturbing movies - Salo

So I like horror movies. I'm no horror aficianado and I don't really dig the slasher types like Friday the 13th or Halloween, where the main killer is semi-invincible but I like movies like the Devil's Rejects, the 1st Saw movie and Hostel. Ones that kind of make you think. Yes, sometimes its just thinking about fcked up sh*t but they were pretty interesting movies beyond just the shock value. The Human Centipede was all about shock value. There was a big controversy about it and the director even received death threats for making a movie with such a horrible premise. After months of trying to avoid the inevitable, I "saw" it and it actually wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. I mean, it woulda coulda and shoulda been worse. So semi-dissapointed, I did a search and found some dude's top ten list of most disturbing movies and decided to see if I could get through all of them. I started with Salo. I may end with Salo. People actually did kill the director for making this film.

I think Hostel prepared me for Salo until about an hour in. It was an extremely fcked up situation of course, but then it was more like an extreme gay porno, then it was as extreme as i thought Human Centipede was going to be (you know what aspect i'm talking about), and then it was like a Hostel/Saw kill combo at the very end (and pretty realistic for such an old movie). Some of the dialogue was kind of interesting so i suspect the book had some sort of merit to it, but not the movie. I definitely do not recommend seeing this film.
